Lima in ancient times was one of the most important places in the coast. From this place started the civilization, Caral and other sites are proofs of this evolution, here was born the quechua language now spoken by millions of people in the Andes. For this importance in Incas times Pachacamac turns into the most important temple keeping inside the most terrible god: the God of Earthquakes. Its short distance to the Mountain Range makes of Lima one of the most radical geographical places.
In this evironment the sacred City of Caral is an archaeology complex with stone pyramids of 5000 years old and is one of the oldest civilized sites in America. The history timeline puts Caral in the first lines being the start point of andean culture, followed in time by Chavin near Huaraz and developed the first quechua languages (there are 7 different quechua, the most important by now the Cusco known as imperial quechua). |
